The Gaspard Yurievich Fall/Winter 2008/2009 luxury shoe collection is entitled The Beautiful Fall, referring to Alicia Drake's book evoking Paris in the 1970's and the stylish duel between designers Karl Lagerfeld and Yves Saint Laurent. This book also presents the creative personality and creativity of the New York fashion illustrator, Antonio Lopez, living in Paris at the time and a great inspiration today to Gaspard Yurkievich. This shoe collection honors the nervous, colorful, pictural work of Antonio Lopez, from the chic Parisian muses of the epoch such as Paloma Picasso, Loulou de La Falaise and Donna Jordan.
The Gaspard Yurievich fashion house has confided to the Gorgeous Group this season's limited collection of classic, bourgeois lines with a touch of excentricity: a savvy mix between the heritage of French culture and the "glam" of the 70's".
Low boots, high boots, high heels, winter sandals, ballerinas, derbies, mocassins - all with round or pointed cropped ends, gold leather soles and three main heel styles:
- a heel covered in leather with a gold metal ring (6cm or 10cm in height);
- a stemmed metal heel with violet and gold rings (6cm or 10cm in height);
- flat heels or 2 cm high "bizoté" heels with gold metal.
Fancy leathers ("pearl varnish" or « snake print varnish ») are used to a great majority in this autumnal/winter range of bottle green, navy or black coulours. Yellow curry powder, brown Havana, rivets and golden rings unsettle these sober seasonal colours.
The codes and spirit of the Gaspard Yurkievich footwear collection are omnipresent: the gold, leather soles, lines, cuts and décolletés are accentuated with golden leather or rhodoÏd braid. While always comfortable and functional, these are very feminine, sophisticated and unique ladies' evening wear.
